Now that fall is finally here, the real fun can begin! Whether you’re interested in supporting Kern County’s agricultural bounty or can’t get enough county fairs, this October promises to be full of excitement.
BOUNTIFUL FUN
The Kern County Farm Bureau’s 2024 Bounty of Kern County event will commence on Oct. 5 at the Kern County Fairgrounds. Join the Farm Bureau for a night of cocktails, locally-grown food, and networking opportunities!
Local produce sponsors include Fachin Bees Honey, Cal-Organic Farms, Grapevine Vineyards, Bolthouse Farms, Tasteful Selections, and the Wonderful Company. Cocktail hour starts at 5 p.m. and dinner will begin at 7 p.m. If you’re still in the mood for fun, join in on the after part at 8 p.m.
FRESNO COUNTY FAIR
Winding down from the Kern County Fair, it’s time to celebrate the agricultural heritage of Fresno County at the Big Fresno Fair, running from Oct. 2 to Oct. 14. Don’t miss out on delicious fair foods, fun rides, and a chance to support Fresno’s FFA and 4H students.
AG CAREER EXPO
On October 11, Bakersfield College and Kern High School District are hosting the 2024 Agriculture Career Expo at Bakersfield College on 1801 Panorama Dr. Students are invited to explore the various agricultural career opportunities the Central Valley has to offer.
Last year, over 300 students participated and interacted with industry professionals across various sectors – from plant science to agribusiness. Join the fun at BC’s main campus at 9 a.m.
