By Rachel Nettleton, Executive Director, Kern County Farm Bureau

As I prepare to take maternity leave until the new year, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our dedicated members and partners in the Kern County agricultural community. Working with you to advance the mission of the Kern County Farm Bureau has been incredibly rewarding, and I am confident that the important work we have been doing will continue seamlessly in my absence.

Agriculture is the backbone of our community, and the challenges and opportunities we face require continuous commitment. During this period, the Kern County Farm Bureau will have an interim contact to ensure that our efforts do not miss a beat. Whether you have questions, need support, or want to stay engaged with our ongoing initiatives, please do not hesitate to reach out to our interim at kcfb@kerncfb.com or by calling 661-397-9635. The interim will be fully briefed and ready to assist with all inquiries and activities related to the Bureau.

Looking ahead, I am excited about the initiatives we have planned for the new year. Our local benefits program is at the top of the list — a program designed to provide tangible value to our members by partnering with local businesses to offer exclusive benefits and discounts. This program is not just a perk for our members; it is also an opportunity for businesses in our community to connect with and support the agricultural sector in meaningful ways. If your business is interested in participating in this program, I encourage you to reach out to our interim to learn more. Your involvement can make a significant impact, fostering stronger ties between local businesses and the agricultural community.

The agricultural industry in Kern County is at a pivotal point, with numerous opportunities to innovate, grow, and support our local farmers and ranchers. While I will be taking this time for my family, I remain deeply committed to the future of our agricultural community. I am looking forward to returning in the new year, ready to dive back into the work we have started together and continue driving forward with the initiatives that will benefit us all.

In the meantime, I trust that the Farm Bureau’s operations are in good hands, and I look forward to seeing the progress that will undoubtedly be made during my leave. Thank you for your continued support and dedication to our shared goals. Together, we will continue to strengthen the agricultural community of Kern County.

Wishing you all the best, and I look forward to reconnecting with you in the new year.
